Be There Spreads Throughout Georgia PDF Print E-mail

The number of school districts in Georgia embracing the Be There campaign is multiplying rapidly. Nearly 40 districts are now participating and more come aboard weekly.

Alongside 14 districts in the Atlanta metro media market who kicked off the campaign August 27, 2009, are the counties of Bibb, Catoosa, Colquitt, Columbia, Cook, Effingham, Grady, Gordon, Houston, Murray, Muscogee, Pierce, Richmond, Thomas, Tift, Towns, Treutlen, Walker, Ware and Wilcox as well as the city districts of Savannah Chatham, Cartersville, and Marietta.

Georgia state education officials, including State Superintendent of Schools Kathy Cox, and Herb Garrett, Executive Director of the Georgia School Superintendents Association, support the campaign because of the importance of parents’ involvement in their children’s education. The Georgia School Public Relations Association is also a partner of Be There and its members have been instrumental in coordinating the campaign in their school districts.

As more and more districts throughout Georgia join the campaign, eventually families will see and hear the Be There message wherever they reside or travel in the state. And, best of all hundreds of thousands of children will find greater success in school because their families were there for them.

The 14 participating Atlanta metro market districs include Atlanta Public Schools, Clarke, Cobb, DeKalb, Douglas, Floyd, Fulton, Gwinnett, Lamar, Meriwether, Newton, Rockdale, Troup and Walton counties.
