Officials with Winston-Salem/Forsyth County Schools have started a new program to try to get parents more involved in their children's education.
The "Be There" campaign aims to inspire parents to become involved and use ordinary moments to teach their children as part of their daily routine, officials said during last night's school-board meeting. |

 WVIR-TV NBC 9 Joint "Be There" Campaign Launched Nov 17, 2008 Albemarle and Charlottesville schools are teaming up to get the word out to parents. Monday night, parent-teacher organizations met at the Albemarle County Office Building to kickoff the "Be There" campaign. The idea is to inspire and encourage parents to become involved in their children's lives. Organizers say parental involvement is a key driver for student achievement. The campaign will focus on parents connecting with their child and discovering "teachable moments" to share knowledge, lend a hand or give support. |

Getting started to make the Be There campaign yours is easy. We’ll help you every step of the way. After reviewing the synopsis below and this website, we suggest you download the Checklist for Launching, which will walk you through each small step of the process. (checklist) There is a different checklist for districts from states where a statewide organization is sponsoring a generic campaign. (generic checklist) We will share roles and responsibilities with you. Simply put, Voss & Associates is responsible for producing all the materials and you are responsible for distributing them.
